Jamar had just turned 15 years old when he passed away
from an arterial venous malformation (AVM). He was my firstborn son and my
only child for six years. Jamar was my best friend, and when his brother
was born he was so excited because he was going to be a big brother! He
took care of his little brother & when Jason was old enough, let him hang
out with him and his friends. Jamar was 12 years old when he got his first
bleed in his brain. He was diagnosed with an AVM and was scheduled for
surgery. Before his scheduled surgery, he had another bleed and had to be
operated on right away. The operation took 12 long hours, but afterward,
he came through with flying colors and the doctors said he would be fine.
Three years later he had another bleed - this one much more serious - it caused
strokes on both sides of his
brain. We were told that he was brain dead. But, in all our grief,
we decided to donate his organs because we knew that's what he would have
wanted. Jamar was given to me by a gracious God for 15 wonderful years.
He was truly a precious gift from Heaven that I cherished with all my heart.
I think about him everyday, and there's not a minute that goes by that I don't
miss him. I know that someday we'll be together again. Until that
time comes, I cherish his memory always and forever. Jamar, I know you're
flying high in heaven now making everyone happy like you did here.
Remember that Mommy will always love you and miss you. You will always be in my heart and a part of my soul.
Love Mom
