A Tribute to Mom...

    To mom you weren't a saint you were my mother, the only mother I ever had or ever wanted, you of all the people I know was a lover of life, you were all heart, you never met a stranger everyone loved you and you them, you once saw a man living in a tent and told Joyce not to let you forget to pick up a hamburger and a cup of hot coffee for him well ya'll both forgot until you were on your way home and saw him out working on his bike you turned around and drove 25 miles one way to get this man you had never met a hamburger and coffee, coffee because it was very cold out when you gave him the hamburger he told you it was the first thing he had eaten in several days, as you started to pull away you notice his bike tire was off his bike and ask about it he told you he was broke and was riding that bike to his brothers when he got a flat and had to try to patch the tire but he had no money, you drove home got a bike tire from a grandsons bike and drove back out, and it was just the right size, before you left you gave him a christmas present of $20.00, and never saw this man again, you said you hoped he made it to his brothers I'm sure if we would have let you, you would have drove him there because you had a heart that just wouldn't quit giving even in the ninty's you were still giving hitch hikers rides and when we your children would find out we would fuse at you but you always said you wouldn't do it any more.  But we never belived you, on July 19 1996 you spent the day running errands buying all you grandchildren coloring books and giving them rides in your new jeep you were so happy about that jeep, as you drove off at 6:00.   I  just shook my head my 55 year old mother in her jeep you really did love life to its fullest, I never knew that would be the last time I would ever see you, Joyce, me, Robert, Lisa, Don, and Nancy  SPENT THE NEXT FOUR DAYS LOOKING FOR YOU OR TRYING TO GET OTHER PEOPLE TO HELP US BUT IT WAS A SEARCH WE DID ALONE, a jogger found your body just feet from your rolled jeep the sherriffs department that wouldn't even help us look for our mother didn't even come to your house where we were waiting for you to come home to, they didn't even call us they called Lisa's sister-in-law and asked her to go tell Lisa, Your body was so badly decomposed that we couldn't veiw the body to see our mother one last time we all asked but were refused that right, THE SHERRIFFS DEPARTMENT AND THE INVESTIGATION THAT THEY DID SHOWED YOUR DEATH AN ACCIDENT, but some of your rings were missing and a little over $300,00 in cash were never found, mom we love you and we wont stop looking for the ansers we know have to be out there...
